Squirrels of Doom is a Vancouver, BC based multimedia development company dedicated to producing high quality, commercially viable projects while maintaining artistic integrity. We specialize in comedy and horror, with a science fiction slant, although we are interested in projects of all genres. Founders Matt Baker and Roz Young both have MSc degrees in microbiology and are graduates of the Vancouver Film school. They also love to travel.
Check out the trailer for our steampunk, adventure short film Captain Ballantine and the Painted Lady, which recently premiered at the Whistler Film Festival!
After discovering a clue to the location of the lost treasure of The Painted Lady, Daphne Ballantine teams up with rival adventurer (and her former lover) Edward Rose to find the treasure before the corrupt Mr. Darrow discovers it. Ballantine must eventually choose between her quest and her love for Edward.
Currently, we are also working on a documentary project with Edmonton’s Elizabeth Fry Society. A Hand in the Darkness follows one woman’s journey from prostitution, drugs, gang life, and prison to her current work with agencies that assist criminalized women in Canada.
